Epsom Salt

It is an inorganic salt which is known as salt, due to its chemical structure. This salt is also known as Magnesium Sulphate, MgSO4. It is originated from the mineral-rich water of Epsom (England). Epsom salt is similar to table salt but its taste is distinctly different from table salt. It is bitter in taste and it can be used for many kinds of health treatments. For hundreds of years, it has been used for constipation, insomnia and many ailments. 

Benefits Of Epsom Salt:

It is the most beneficial compound for health-related problems. Epsom is helpful in reducing the swelling. It is also known for the reduction of muscles pain and stress. Epsom salt has the quality that also helps in maintaining the blood pressure. People don’t get enough magnesium in their diet, so Epsom salt can be used in another way to enter the body and fulfill the requirements in the human body. It is best for the nervous system and heart because it is involved in more the 325 biochemical reactions. Epsom salt helps in the reduction of stress and promotes sleeping. Magnesium is helpful in producing your brain neurotransmitter that enhances sleep and reduces stress.

It is also known as a bath salt. It is commonly taken by people in a bath form because taking a hot tub bath of Epsom salt reduces the swelling, muscle soreness and relieve the stress. A hot bath of Epsom salt is also beneficial for maintaining blood pressure.

Use of Epsom Salt for Swelling:

Epsom salt can be absorbed through the skin, increasing the magnesium level in the body, which helps in reducing the swelling. Here is the remedy of Epsom salt for swelling feet. 

  1. Fill your bathtub or basin with warm water. Make sure that there is a large amount of water needed for this remedy.
  2.  Add ½ cup of Epsom salt to the warm water, and leave it until it gets dissolved.
  3. You can also add a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a refreshing scent.
  4.  Soak feet in bathtub carefully and make sure the water is not too hot to tolerate.
  5. Keep your feet in a filled bathtub patiently for about 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, take out your feet from the bathtub and dry them with a soft towel.
  7. Make sure not to rub your skin while drying your feet.
  8. In the end, Moist your feet after soaking.
  9. You may take this Epsom salt bath for swelling a week thrice.

Soaking your feet in it water can make your skin dry and rough, specifically on feet. Be sure to moisturize your skin after an Epsom salt foot soaks to prevent cracked skin and irritation. Epsom salt foot for swelling is essential for foot muscles to work appropriately, and soaks can be a safe complementary home alternative to medication. 

Epsom Salt’s Ingredients:

It has two main ingredients, which are magnesium and sulfate when they get dissolve in water and get absorbed by the skin. They start healing the swollen part of the body, by increasing the amount of magnesium in the body. Magnesium has the ability to heal the sore part of the body. It can help shrink any swollen blood vessels down, it is the best salt for reducing swelling. 

Adding an excessive amount of Epsom salt may cause irritation and allergy in your skin as it is a highly toxic element. In case of any irritation or redness on your skin, please visit your doctor for consultancy and ask him to guide you if it does not harm you.
